On January 15, 2020, Vice Foreign Minister Qin Gang met at request with Petra Sigmun, Director General of the Asia and the Pacific of the Federal Foreign Office of Germany, mainly exchanging views on China-Germany relations and China-Europe relations.
Qin Gang expressed, the Chinese side has always viewed and developed China-Germany relations from a strategic and long-term perspective. In the current complex and volatile international situation, strengthening bilateral cooperation will not only be conducive to our two countries, but also to the development of China-Europe relations and to injecting more stability, certainty and positive energy into the world. It is hoped that the two sides will enhance communication and cooperation based on the principle of mutual respect, mutual benefit and win-win results, create conditions accumulate fruits and create an environment for a series of important political agendas between China and Germany and between China and Europe within the year.
Petra Sigmun said, the German side attaches great importance to developing its relations with China. Germany is willing to, on the basis of adhering to the One China principle, reinforce mutual trust and understanding, and take the important political agendas between China and Germany within the year as an opportunity to further deepen cooperation to make 2020 the year of partnership for China-Germany and for China and Europe.
