On June 18, 2020, Vice Foreign Minister Luo Zhaohui had telephone conversation via videolink with Desra Percaya, Director General for Asia-Pacific and African Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Indonesia, exchanging views on such topics as China-Indonesia relations and cooperation in COVID-19 response.

Luo Zhaohui noted, since the onslaught of COVID-19, leaders of China and Indonesia have maintained close communication on the pandemic containment, and the governments and people of both countries have supported and helped each other to overcome current difficulties. The Chinese side is prepared to work with the Indonesian side to continue to conduct anti-pandemic cooperation, especially the cooperation in vaccine research and development, boost cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative in an innovative manner, step up regional and multilateral coordination and cooperation, support each other in safeguarding national unity and tranquility and push bilateral comprehensive strategic partnership for sustained and in-depth development.

Congratulating China on its major victory over the pandemic, Desra Percaya thanked the Chinese side for providing valuable support to Indonesia's fight against the virus, and reiterated Indonesia's adherence to the one-China principle, support for the "one country, two system" and readiness to continuously expand bilateral comprehensive strategic cooperation with the Chinese side, speed up integration between the Belt and Road Initiative and the Global Maritime Fulcrum strategy, and increase exchanges in economy, trade and investment, so as to better benefit the two countries and the two peoples.

Both sides agreed to launch by the end of June a "fast lane" for essential personnel exchanges between both countries and discuss the opening of a "green channel" for important materials transportation to contribute to restoration of work and production in bilateral major cooperation projects and maintain stability and smoothness of industrial and supply chains.
