On November 26, 2020, Vice Foreign Minister Zheng Zeguang met with Argentine Ambassador to China Luis María Kreckler. Both sides exchanged in-depth views on China-Argentina relations and other issues of common concern.
Zheng Zeguang said that since the beginning of this year, President Xi Jinping has kept close communication with President Alberto Fernández and chartered the course for the future development of the bilateral relations. Both sides need to implement the important consensus reached by the two heads of state, maintain close communication at all levels, deepen cooperation against pandemic and on trade, technology, and people-to-people exchanges, enhance coordination in multilateral and regional affairs, uphold multilateralism, and push for greater development of the China-Argentina comprehensive strategic partnership.
Luis María Kreckler spoke highly of the development of China-Argentina relations and appreciated the valuable assistance offered by China for his country's fight against the pandemic. He said that the important consensus reached by the two heads of state has a significant leading role for the development of the China-Argentina comprehensive strategic partnership. Argentina attaches great importance to its relations with China, and is ready to work with China to attain more achievements in all-round exchanges and practical cooperation, strengthen communication and cooperation in international and regional affairs, and bring the bilateral relations to a new stage.
