On May 11, 2021, Vice Foreign Minister Qin Gang led a delegation of envoys to visit Xiong'an New Area, and inspected the projects such as New Area planning, urban construction, and ecological protection, to get an understanding of the synchronized progress of the New Area in taking over Beijing's non-capital functions and advancing construction. Envoys and senior diplomats from 31 countries such as the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, Nigeria, Cameroon, Sudan, the United Arab Emirates, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Luxembourg, and Panama as well as international organizations attended the event.

Member of Hebei Standing Committee, Vice Governor of Hebei Province and Secretary of the Party Working Committee of Xiong'an New Area Zhang Guohua met and accompanied with the delegation during the visit. Zhang Guohua said, the establishment of Xiong'an New Area is a major historic strategic choice made by the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping at the core. He gave a detailed introduction to the overall planning and development philosophy of Xiong'an New Area as well as the achievements scored in the past four years since its setup. He said, the New Area has entered into the crucial period of the synchronized progress of taking over Beijing's non-capital functions and advancing construction. He welcomes all countries to join the construction and development of the New Area, and share the development opportunities.

Vice Foreign Minister Qin Gang said, the establishment of Xiong'an New Area is "a grand strategy for China's next thousand years and a matter of great national significance", and the New Area has drawn the global attention. Xiong'an is creating history every day, and its every step is built on the past achievements. It will set an example for the high-quality development in the new era, and develop into a city boasting favorable environment for work and living. The Foreign Ministry has always leveraged its strengths to serve the planning and construction of Xiong'an New Area, and it will continue to fully support the New Area in increasing various forms of exchanges and cooperation with other countries. This year marks the centenary of the founding of the CPC. The story of Xiong'an is another brilliant chapter among the stories of China and the CPC. We hope all envoys will visit different places of China, and see with your own eyes the CPC's strong record of governance, the people's extraordinary journey toward the Chinese dream and China's commitment to peaceful development, thus promoting the mutual understanding and friendly cooperation between China and the outside world.

During the visit, envoys took the Beijing-Xiong'an Intercity Railway opened last December and experienced "Xiong'an Speed"; visited the Planning Exhibition Center of Xiong'an New Area and got a comprehensive understanding of the overall planning and development philosophy of the New Area; inspected infrastructure projects in Rongxi Zone and witnessed the vitality of the "City of Future"; understood the river system improvement and ecological progress in Baiyangdian, and exchanged with villagers, which was warmly received.

The delegation visits the sewage cleaning system, and inspects the water system improvement in Baiyangdian.

The envoys spoke highly of the new development philosophy of Xiong'an New Area, and its achievements in planning, construction and ecological progress. They will continue to pay attention to the progress of Xiong'an, and actively promote its exchanges and cooperation with their own countries.
