On June 24, 2021, Vice Foreign Minister Le Yucheng and First Deputy Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan Vepa Hajiyev held the Seventh Session of the Security Cooperation Subcommittee of the China-Turkmenistan Cooperation Committee via video link. The two sides had an in-depth exchange of views on bilateral relations, China-Turkmenistan security cooperation and international and regional issues of common concern.
The two sides made positive comments on the fruitful security cooperation between the two countries. Both sides agreed to work under head-of-state diplomacy, continue to give play to the Security Cooperation Subcommittee, improve the current cooperation mechanism, enhance exchanges and cooperation between counterpart departments, enrich the connotation of security cooperation, and fully improve enforcement security and defense cooperation, in order to jointly tackle new threats and challenges of regional security and safeguard peace and security of the two countries and the whole region.
After the session, the two sides signed the Minutes of the Seventh Session of the Security Cooperation Subcommittee of the China-Turkmenistan Cooperation Committee.
