On June 30, 2021, Assistant Foreign Minister Wu Jianghao met with Vietnamese Ambassador to China Pham Sao Mai at the latter's request.

On behalf of the Vietnamese Communist Party and Government, Pham Sao Mai extended warm congratulations on the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China (CPC), lauded the great achievements made in building socialism with Chinese characteristics, and handed over a congratulatory flower basket from Vietnamese Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son to State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi.

Wu Jianghao thanked the Vietnamese side for the congratulations and introduced the basic experience and great history of the CPC in leading the revolution and building of socialism with Chinese characteristics. The two sides had an in-depth exchange of views on strengthening the unity and cooperation between the two parties and between the two countries under the new situation.
