On December 16, 2021, Vice Foreign Minister Le Yucheng met with outgoing Secretary-General of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Vladimir Norov. The two sides exchanged views on issues such as the development of the SCO.

Le Yucheng made positive comments on Norov's effective efforts in promoting the SCO's development and improving the work of the SCO Secretariat during his tenure as Secretary-General in the past three years. He said that China is willing to work with other member states of the SCO to actively implement the consensus reached among the heads of state of the SCO member states, continuously deepen cooperation in various fields within the SCO, and facilitate its further development under new circumstances.

Norov thanked China for providing support and convenience for his fulfillment of duty and expressed his willingness to continue to play a positive role in promoting the development of the SCO.
