On October 31, 2023, Assistant Foreign Minister Nong Rong met with outgoing Lao Ambassador to China Khamphao Ernthavanh.

Assistant Foreign Minister Nong Rong spoke positively of Khamphao Ernthavanh's contribution to deepening the building of a China-Laos community with a shared future and promoting cooperation between the two countries in various fields during her tenure as Ambassador to China. He expressed the hope that Khamphao Ernthavanh will continue to care for and support the development of China-Laos relations.

Khamphao Ernthavanh thanked the Chinese side for the support and facilitation during her tenure in China and said that she will always play an active role in the cause of Laos-China friendship.
