Assistant Foreign Minister Nong Rong Attends Exchange Workshop on China's Central Economic Work Conference 2023 Held by ACC

On January 15, 2024, Assistant Foreign Minister Nong Rong, upon invitation, attended the Exchange Workshop on China's Central Economic Work Conference 2023 held by the ASEAN-China Centre (ACC), and had in-depth discussions and exchanges on China's economy and China-ASEAN cooperation with diplomatic envoys of ASEAN countries to China as well as experts and scholars.

Nong Rong actively promoted the guiding principles of the Central Conference on Work Relating to Foreign Affairs and the Central Economic Work Conference, and expressed that building a community with a shared future for mankind is the core tenet of Xi Jinping Thought on Diplomacy. China will actively advocate for an equal and orderly multipolar world and inclusive economic globalization that benefits all, strengthen friendly cooperation with all countries, and continuously provide new opportunities for the world with China's new development.

Nong stressed that ASEAN is a priority in China's neighborhood diplomacy and a key region for the Belt and Road cooperation, and a model and example of achieving common development. Over the years, the economic and trade cooperation between the two sides has continued to deepen, connectivity has been constantly improved, and people-to-people exchanges have become closer. Looking ahead, China will always practice the principles of amity, sincerity, mutual benefit and inclusiveness, continuously deepen the China-ASEAN comprehensive strategic partnership, and work together to build an even closer China-ASEAN community with a shared future.

Secretary General of the ACC Shi Zhongjun and Lao Ambassador to China Somphone Sichaleune delivered remarks respectively. Professor Zhang Jianping of the Chinese Academy of International Trade and Economic Cooperation of the Ministry of Commerce and Professor Fan Ying of China Foreign Affairs University provided in-depth interpretations of the outlook for China's economy and China's high-standard opening-up to the outside world, respectively. The diplomatic envoys of ASEAN countries to China spoke highly of the achievements of ASEAN-China cooperation, and expressed their willingness to further strengthen communication and cooperation with China, adhere to the one-China principle, and push forward the continuous development of the ASEAN-China comprehensive strategic partnership, so as to promote regional peace, stability and prosperity.
