On July 30, 2025, H.E. Mr. Sun Weidong, Vice Minister of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China, invited representatives of Cambodia and Thailand for an informal consultation in Shanghai, China.

Both Cambodia and Thailand reaffirmed to China their commitment to upholding the ceasefire and appreciated the positive role played by China. The meeting proceeded in a candid, friendly and conducive atmosphere.

This informal consultation is part of China’s ongoing constructive effort to support peaceful resolution between Cambodia and Thailand.
