On September 5, 2025, Vice Foreign Minister Miao Deyu, upon invitation, attended the reception for the 203rd anniversary of Brazil's Independence hosted by the Embassy of Brazil in China and delivered a speech.

Miao Deyu stated that after two centuries of struggle, inheritance and integration, independence, inclusiveness, openness and self-reliance have become the national characteristics of Brazil. The Brazilian government and people have actively explored a development path suited to their national conditions, achieving remarkable progress in various fields. In November last year and May this year, President Xi Jinping and President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva exchanged successful visits, charting a blueprint for the development of bilateral relations. China is ready to work with Brazil, guided by head-of-state diplomacy, to continuously deepen the building of a China-Brazil community with a shared future, synergize the development strategies of the two countries, jointly promote global governance reform, and write a new chapter of mutual benefit, win-win cooperation, and common development among the Global South.

Brazilian Ambassador to China Marcos Galvão stated that under the joint leadership of the two heads of state, Brazil-China relations have gained flourishing development in recent years. Brazil always firmly defends its national sovereignty and independence, and steadfastly practices multilateralism. The Brazilian side is willing to work with the Chinese side to expand new areas of cooperation between the two countries, elevate Brazil-China relations to a new level, foster a more efficient and democratic international order, and jointly safeguard the interests of the vast number of developing countries.
