Vice Foreign Minister Sun Weidong Attends Indonesia's National Day Reception

On October 24, 2025, Vice Foreign Minister Sun Weidong, upon invitation, attended the National Day reception hosted by the Embassy of Indonesia in China, and met with Indonesian Ambassador to China Djauhari Oratmangun.

Sun Weidong congratulated Indonesia on the 80th anniversary of its National Day, and noted that not long ago, President Xi Jinping held an important meeting with President Prabowo Subianto, charting the course for the development of bilateral relations in the next phase. The fourth plenary session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China successfully concluded yesterday. During the 15th Five-Year Plan period, China will focus more on high-quality development and expand high-standard opening up, which will provide more cooperation opportunities for neighboring countries, including Indonesia. China is ready to work with Indonesia to deliver on the important common understandings reached by the two heads of state, continuously advance the building of a China-Indonesia community with a shared future, and make greater contributions to regional peace and stability as well as global development and prosperity.

Djauhari Oratmangun said that President Prabowo Subianto attaches great importance to developing relations with China. The two countries enjoy close high-level exchanges, and cooperation in economy, trade, culture and other fields continues to deepen. Indonesia is willing to work with China to take the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries as an opportunity to carry forward traditional friendship, deepen solidarity and cooperation, and continuously elevate bilateral relations to new heights.
