On November 11, 2025, Vice Foreign Minister Sun Weidong, upon invitation, attended the reception hosted by the Embassy of Cambodia in China for the 72nd anniversary of Cambodia's independence, and exchanged views with Cambodian Ambassador to China Soeung Rathchavy on China-Cambodia relations and other topics.

Sun Weidong extended festive greetings to the Cambodian side, stating that China and Cambodia are stepping up efforts to implement the important outcomes of President Xi Jinping's visit to Cambodia in April this year and the strategic consensus reached between the leaders of the two countries, achieving progress in all-round cooperation and delivering benefits to the two peoples. China is ready to work with Cambodia to strengthen the synergy of development strategies, enrich the "Diamond Hexagon" cooperation framework, promote the effective implementation of the "Industrial Development Corridor" and the "Fish and Rice Corridor", and accelerate the building of an all-weather China-Cambodia community with a shared future in the new era.

Soeung Rathchavy stated that the ironclad friendship between Cambodia and China is unbreakable. Cambodia firmly abides by the one-China principle, actively supports the four major global initiatives proposed by President Xi Jinping, and is willing to, guided by the important common understandings between the leaders of the two countries, strengthen high-level exchanges with China, expand mutually beneficial cooperation, deepen the building of a community with a shared future, and contribute to their respective modernization.
