
On December 31, 2025, Vice Foreign Minister Miao Deyu met with Permanent Representative of the African Union (AU) to China Alhaji Mohamed Sarjoh Bah.
Miao Deyu stated that under the strategic guidance of President Xi Jinping and African leaders, China-Africa relations have achieved robust development. China highly values the important role played by the AU in China-Africa relations and is ready to work with the AU to prepare for the 2026 China-Africa Year of People-to-People Exchanges, advance the implementation of the outcomes of the Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation, promote the better development of China-Africa relations, and build an all-weather China-Africa community with a shared future for the new era.
Alhaji Mohamed Sarjoh Bah stated that the AU highly values the relations with China, firmly adheres to the one-China policy, and appreciates China's long-standing valuable support for Africa's development. The AU is willing to work with China to deepen political mutual trust, strengthen the synergy of development strategies, expand cooperation in areas such as energy, infrastructure, agriculture, peace and security, and jointly advance the modernization of Africa and China.
