
On April 16, 2026, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, together with the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council, successfully organized the tenth event “Diplomatic Envoys Face to Face with Sinochem Holdings” of the “Ambassadors Face to Face with State-owned Enterprises” series activities. Assistant Foreign Minister Hong Lei and Chairman of Sinochem Holdings Li Fanrong, attended the event and delivered remarks. Nearly 80 representatives from foreign embassies and international organizations’ offices in China attended the event, including ambassadors to China from 18 countries including Argentina, Pakistan, Jordan and Latvia.
Hong Lei noted that after more than 70 years of arduous efforts, China has grown into the world’s largest manufacturer, featuring a complete, large-scale, technologically advanced, and self-supporting industrial system. Sinochem Holdings is not only among the first Chinese enterprises to go global, but also a pacesetter in high-quality Belt and Road cooperation. The 15th Five-Year Plan focuses on promoting high-quality development, accelerating the cultivation of new quality productive forces, and boosting the transformation of traditional industries toward higher-end, smarter and greener development. China stands ready to work with all countries to deepen cooperation based on mutual trust, share development opportunities, and deliver benefits to people around the world.
Li Fanrong noted that Sinochem Holdings is a world-leading comprehensive chemical enterprise, with its business covering eight major sectors including life science, materials science, and petrochemicals. It has production bases and R&D facilities in more than 150 countries and regions around the world and boasts a well-established marketing network system. Sinochem Holdings looks forward to deepening cooperation and pursuing coordinated development with other countries in more areas in the future.
The diplomatic envoys also toured Sinochem Holdings’ business exhibition hall and had in-depth exchanges with the company’s management. They spoke highly of Sinochem’s independent R&D capabilities, high-end manufacturing standards and green development philosophy, and expressed readiness to proactively carry out practical cooperation with the Chinese side in the chemical industry.
