International Finance Corporation was established in 1956 and is a member of the World Bank Group. China became a member of the IFC in 1980 after China regained its legal seat in the World Bank. China has 24,500 shares in the IFC, which equals USD24.5 million, or 1.04% of the total. China's voting power in the IFC is 24750, or 1.03% of total. Up to September 2001, IFC had provided USD1.2 billion of loans and investment to China's non-state-owned enterprises, covering 45 projects.
