Ambassador Deng Xijun Pays a Courtesy Call on Former President of Afghanistan

On April 12th, 2015, H.E. Mr. Deng Xijun, Ambassador of the People's Republic of China, paid a courtesy call on H.E. Mr. Sibghatullah Mujaddidi, former President of Afghanistan, former Speaker of Meshrano Jirga of Afghanistan, and Chairman of Afghan National Liberation Front. Both sides exchanged views on China-Afghanistan relations and other issues.

Ambassador Deng said H.E. Mr. Mujaddidi has made important contributions to the development of China-Afghanistan relations, for which he is deeply thankful, adding that China has lived in harmony with Afghanistan over the past two thousand years and maintained sound and steady cooperation with Afghanistan in all fields. He pointed out that the year of 2015 marks the 60th anniversary of the establishment of the diplomatic relations between China and Afghanistan, as well as the Year of China-Afghanistan Friendship and Cooperation, the Chinese side will take this opportunity to continually provide support and assistance to Afghan peaceful reconstruction, play a constructive role in promoting Afghan reconciliation process, and hopes that Afghanistan would achieve peace, stability and development at an early date. Ambassador Deng said, Your Excellency is a well-respected politician who has visited China twice, we expect that Your Excellency will continue to play a positive role in promoting the China-Afghanistan friendship.

H.E. Mr. Mujaddidi stressed that China is the most reliable neighbor and partner of Afghanistan and, Afghanistan attaches great importance to developing friendly ties with China. H.E. Mr. Mujaddidi appreciated the firm support and selfless assistance from China to the Afghan peaceful reconstruction all along, and sincerely wished the bilateral relations could constantly advance to a new level.
