Xi Jinping Sends Message of Congratulation to DPRK Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un on the 73rd Anniversary of DPRK National Day

On September 9, 2021, General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and President Xi Jinping sent a congratulatory message to Chairman of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK) and Chairman of the State Affairs Commission of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) Kim Jong Un on the 73rd anniversary of DPRK National Day.

In his congratulatory message, Xi Jinping pointed out that for the past 73 years since the founding of the DPRK, the WPK has united the DPRK people and led them to make untiring efforts to obtain great achievements in building a socialist country. We are sincerely delighted to see that as a comrade and friend. At present, the DPRK people are earnestly implementing the decisions made at the 8th WPK Congress and promoting its economic and social development. He believes that under the strong leadership of the Central Committee of the WPK headed by Comrade Chairman, the DPRK people will surely build a better future for the country under concerted efforts.

Xi Jinping stressed that the traditional and increasingly strong friendship between China and the DPRK is the common treasure of both parties. In recent years, Comrade Chairman and I have kept close communication and led China-DPRK relations moving steadily forward, which resulted in encouraging results and a new dimension to our traditional friendship. I attach great importance to the development of China-DPRK relations, and I am willing to work with Comrade Chairman to promote the friendly and cooperative relations between China and the DPRK for constant and new achievements, so as to better benefit the two countries and peoples.
