Ambassador Huang Zheng Attended the China-Pacific Islands Maritime Economic Seminar

On September 27th, H.E. Huang Zheng, Chinese Ambassador to the FSM, attended the China-Pacific Islands Maritime Economic Seminar, co-sponsored by the China (Shenzhen) Development Institute and the China Pacific Islands Economic and Cultural Association in Pohnpei.

Chinese and FSM government officials, experts, scholars and business representatives participated in the seminar. Focusing on marine economic cooperation, they conducted practical discussions on issues such as infrastructure construction, transport interconnection, sustainable fisheries development and tourism development between China and the Pacific islands countries.

Ambassador Huang pointed out in his speech, that the bilateral economic and trade cooperations between China and the FSM have yielded fruitful results, and further cooperations in the field of maritime economy have great prospects . Next year marks the 30th Anniversary of of the establishment of diplomatic ties between China and the FSM. China-FSM relations ushers in new opportunities for development. China and the FSM jointly pursuing the Belt and Road Initiative will provide new opportunities and open up new space for bilateral cooperations and inject impetus into our respective economic and social development as well as regional development and prosperity. We hope more and more people from Pacific Islands Countries including the FSM would seize the new opportunities take the high-speed train of China's economy to achieve a broader win-win cooperation,jointly pursue the Belt and Road international cooperation and the building of a community with a shared future for the humanity and jointly create a better future!
