The Chinese Ambassador Sun Weidong Presents Letter of Credence

  On August 28, H.E. Mr. Sun Weidong, the newly appointed Chinese Ambassador to India presented his Letter of Credence to Shri Ram Nath Kovind, the President of India, and had a cordial meeting with the President.

  During the meeting, Ambassador Sun conveyed the cordial greetings of President Xi Jinping to President Kovind, and said that the two countries’ friendly exchanges go back a long way. China attaches great importance to the development of relations with India, and sincerely welcomes India’s development. The two sides should highlight the steering role of the leaders in guiding the bilateral relations’ progress, and jointly push for forward healthy growth of the China-India relations.

  President Kovind welcomed Ambassador Sun to assume office, and conveyed his sincere greetings to President Xi Jinping. He also expressed warm congratulations on the 70th Anniversary of the founding of People’s Republic of China. He noted that the Indian side highly values its relationship with China, and hoped the two sides would hold a series of events to celebrate the 70th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic ties between India and China next year and make it a success.
