Embassy Supports School Renovation in Shan State

The Chinese Embassy to Myanmar donated 10,000 US Dollars to support the renovation work of a high school in Wan Hat Village from Lin Khae Township of southern Shan State.

Gao Mingbo, the head of the Embassy’s political section handed over the donation to Sai Hla Kyaw, General Secretary of the Shan Nationalities Democratic Party (SNDP) who were joined by Sao Thant Myint, a Central Executive Committee Member of the party on the afternoon of 20 December 2012 at the Embassy.

Expressing appreciation to the Embassy’s assistance to the education sector in the minority nationality regions, Sai Hla Kyaw reaffirmed the SNDP’s commitment to closer contact and cooperation with the Chinese side. “The Shan State is neighboring with China linked by mountains and rivers ”, he said, “we acknowledge the efforts by the Chinese side towards Myanmar’s development”.

“The Chinese side has always attached importance to investment in areas important to people's livelihood,”Gao said, adding that “we are ready to further our exchanges and cooperation with all nationality parties in Myanmar with a view for more projects that will benefit the general public.”
