Ambassador Yao Jing presented Xi Jinping: The Governance of China III to the Senate and the National Assembly of Pakistan

On 11 September, Ambassador Yao Jing presented the book Xi Jinping: The Governance of China III to the Senate and the National Assembly of Pakistan. Nearly a hundred people including H.E. Sadiq Sanjrani, Chairman of the Senate, H.E. Qasim Suri, Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly, Senators and representatives from various parties, cabinet ministers and media attended the event.

In his speech, Ambassador Yao said that the book Xi Jinping: The Governance of China III contains 92 reports, speeches and articles by General Secretary Xi Jinping of the Communist Party of China (CPC) during the period from October 2017 to January 2020. The book covers Xi’s important thoughts in various fields such as reform, development, stability, internal affairs, foreign affairs, national defense, and the governance of the party, country and military. It is an authoritative work which comprehensively and systematically reflects Xi Jinping’s thoughts on socialism with Chinese characteristics in the new era, and provides an ideological basis for the international community to understand China’s development, motivation and prospects.

Yao said that China and Pakistan are all-weather strategic partners, and China-Pakistan relations constitute a model for state-to-state relations. China and Pakistan have similar development concepts. Both countries cherish peace, firmly safeguard national dignity, sovereignty and territorial integrity, uphold the people-centered concept, and are committed to international fairness, justice, peace and stability. The book is an important window for the Pakistani people to gain a deeper understanding of contemporary China. China is committed to work with Pakistan to strengthen exchanges and mutual learning of governance, join hands to build a closer China-Pakistan Community of Shared Future in the new era and jointly build the "Belt and Road" Initiative and China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).

Chairman Sanjrani thanked Ambassador Yao for presenting the book to the Pakistani Parliament, saying that President Xi is an outstanding leader with global and strategic vision. Under his able leadership, China has made great achievements in both economic and social development, and Pakistan-China cooperation has made remarkable progress in numerous fields. China's development and strength have set an example for developing countries around the world and also provide valuable opportunities for Pakistan. Containing important speeches and articles by President Xi, the book provides an authoritative insight for the people of Pakistan to understand China's development path and philosophy. The people of Pakistan should also read the book carefully as it is also an important reference for Pakistan's economic and social development.

Chairman Sanjrani further said that Representatives of various parties in the parliament and many cabinet ministers attended the event today, which fully demonstrates that Pakistan-China friendship is a cross-party national consensus of Pakistan. The Senate of Pakistan attaches great importance to the Pakistan-China relations and is willing to strengthen exchanges between the legislative bodies of the two countries, learn from China's experience in governance, and promote CPEC to a new level so that Pakistan-China cooperation will better benefit the people of the two countries and the region.
