Minister Counselor Yu Yue attended the Panel Discussion
of China's Belt and Road Initiative and Latin America


On December 11, 2017, Minister Counselor Yu Yue, Alternate Observer of China to the OAS, joint a panel discussion about the role that China’s Belt and Road Initiative plays for Latin America, together with panelists from Carnegie-Tsinghua Center for Global Policy and China Telecom Americas. The event was organized by Inter-American Dialogue. More than 100 people from government, business or academic institutions in the United States attended the event.

MC Yu briefed the audience the major outcomes of the 19th Party Congress of the Communist Party of China, as well as the positive role that the Belt and Road Initiative plays in the development of the Latin American region and China-Latin America relations. MC Yu said that China would accommodate the Belt and Road Initiative with the development strategies of Latin American countries, in order to build a community of shared future and create a better life for both peoples. MC Yu also answered questions from the audience.
