Chinese Ambassador Chen Xiaodong Made a Video Call on the Premier of KwaZulu-Natal Zikalala

On January 26, Chinese Ambassador Chen Xiaodong made a video call on the Premier of KwaZulu-Natal Zikalala. Consul General in Durban Fei Mingxing and Deputy Premier of KwaZulu-Natal Province in charge of the economy, health, agriculture, art and culture attended the video call.

Ambassador Chen Xiaodong said that KwaZulu-Natal Province has established more sister provinces and cities with Chinese counterparts than any other province in South Africa and achieved fruitful results in its active cooperation with China. China will continue to support KwaZulu-Natal’s efforts to fight the COVID-19 pandemic, further align with development needs, expand and deepen cooperation in various fields, and deliver more effective outcomes in win-win cooperation and common development.

Premier Zikalala warmly welcomed Ambassador Chen on his new appointment and expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Chinese government and people for their strong support to the South African people during their struggle against apartheid. KwaZulu-Natal Province has actively participated in bilateral cooperation and achieved remarkable results. It would like to further strengthen cooperation with China in the anti-pandemic battle, investment and trade, marine economy and other areas.
