Consul General Zha Liyou Attends BNCCI Tourism Talk

On 19 Sept., Consul General Zha Liyou was invited to attend a session on “Experience Bengal: the Sweetest Part of India” held by BNCCI. West Bengal Tourism Joint Secretary Ms. Sanam Sumi, BNCCI President Mr. Arpan Mitra, Thai Consul General Ms. Sweeya Santipitaks and over 80 BNCCI representatives were present.

Mr Zha spoke during the session and introduced on development achievements of the People’s Republic of China in the past 70 years. He said that with fast development of Sino-Indian relations, the potential for bilateral commercial and cultural cooperation is huge. BNCCI delegation attending China-South Asia Forum, Kolkata businessman having a wedding in Kunming, and the Indian Tourism Association having annual meeting in Kunming are good examples. He encouraged the Bengal business community to seize the opportunity and actively carry out exchanges with China, especially Yunnan Province, and promised the consulate would provide assistance in this regard.

Ms. Sumi and Mr. Mitra introduced the development and plans of Bengal tourism, expressed appreciation of the Chinese Consulate for promoting people-to-people exchanges of between India and China, and hoped to continue to communicate with the Consulate and jointly promote tourism ties between the two countries.

Consul Xie Chao was present at the session.
