Consul General Zha Liyou Inaugurates Durga Puja in CD Block, Bidhannagar

On October 4, Consul General Zha Liyou and his wife Zheng Huiqun attended the opening ceremony of Durga Puja Festival in CD block, Bidhannagar, Kolkata. More than 100 people participated including Ward Councilor Ms. Tulsi Sinha Roy, CD BLOCK President Ms. Sutapa Chatterjee and local residents.

Consul General Zha Liyou wished Indian friends a happy festival and expressed his pleasure to attend the opening ceremony of Durga Puja in CD block and celebrate the grand festival with neighbors. He pointed out that Durga Puja Festival was not only a religious festival, but also a fascinating cultural and artistic event. This year marked the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China and Chinese people were celebrating the National Day. China and India shared similar history and culture, and the two countries should have more exchanges and mutual learning. Chinese Consulate was willing to make friends with people from all sectors of community including CD block to promote cultural exchanges between China and East India, and enhance mutual understanding of people of our two nations on each other's economic and social development achievements.

President Ms. Chatterjee and others welcomed Consul General Zha Liyou to attend the program and thanked Chinese Consulate for its great support. They looked forward to maintaining close contact with Chinese Consulate and jointly promoting cultural exchange between China and East India.
