Consul General Zha Liyou Attends Musical Concert

On October 14, Consul General Zha Liyou attended a musical concert titled “The Union of Religions through Music” jointly organized by a local music research organization called NAAD and Indian Council for Cultural Relations(ICCR). More than 100 people participated including Mr. Goutam Dey, Director, Indian Council for Cultural Relations, Kolkata, Mr. Sabyasachi Basu Ray Chaudhury, Vice Chancellor of Rabindra Bharati University, Mr. Toufique Hassan, Deputy High Commissioner of Bangladesh in Kolkata, and teachers and students from local universities and colleges.

As the Chief Guest, Consul General Zha Liyou was invited to deliver a speech. He wished the concert a complete success, indicating music was an international language and both China and India were ancient civilizations with unique music culture. From October 11 to 12, Chinese President Xi Jinping and Indian Prime Minister Modi successfully held their second informal meeting in Chennai, and the two sides agreed to strengthen the dialogue on civilization and enhance people’s mutual understanding on each other's culture and art. Chinese Consulate was willing to work with Indian friends to strengthen cultural exchanges between China and East India.

Mr. Dey and Mr. Chaudhury highly appreciated the speech of Consul General Zha, emphasized Chennai meeting of the two leaders has injected new impetus into the cultural exchanges between China and India and expressed their willingness to keep close contact with Chinese Consulate to jointly promote cultural exchanges between China and East India.

Consul General Zha Liyou also lit the auspicious lights with other guests and enjoyed the local artists' singing and instrumental performances.
