Xi Jinping Sends Congratulatory Message to Donald Trump on His Election as US President

On November 9, 2016, President Xi Jinping sent a congratulatory message to Donald Trump on his election as President of the US.

Xi Jinping pointed out in his congratulatory message that as the biggest developing country and the biggest developed country respectively, as well as the top two economies in the world, China and the US bear special and important responsibilities in maintaining world peace and stability, and promoting global development and prosperity, as well as share broad common interests. The development of a long-term, healthy and stable China-US relationship conforms to the fundamental interests of the two peoples and is also a common expectation of the international community.
