Chinese Consul-General in Brisbane Dr RUAN Zongze Makes Remarks at the Opening Ceremony of 2023 Spring Blossom Festival Night Market

On 8 February, Chinese Consul-General in Brisbane Dr RUAN Zongze attended and made remarks at the opening ceremony of Spring Blossom Festival Night Market which was held by Multicultural Community Centre (MCC).

Dr Ruan said, Mrs Jeannie Mok and MCC are committed to fostering a fair go for the disadvantaged group and building communication platforms for cultural diversity. The Consulate-General has been co-hosting with MCC the When Koala Meets Panda School Art Competition and Chinese cultural workshop, so as to enhance mutual understanding. MCC has hosted Spring Blossom Festival Night Market, formerly Chinese New Year Night Market, for many consecutive years, and brought wonderful performances, cultural experience and delicious snacks to local community. The theme tonight, Spring Blossom, can also describe the current China-Australia relations as we see improvements. Hope both sides can seize the opportunity, further promote cultural, local and people-to-people exchanges and let the China-Australia, China-Queensland friendships blossom and be fruitful.

Director of MCC Mrs Jeannie Mok OAM hosted the event. Deputy Consul-General Ms LI Suyun, Representative of Minister for Multicultural Affairs Mr Jimmy Sullivan MP, Shadow Minister for Multicultural Affairs Mr John-Paul Langbroek MP, Mr Tim Mander MP, Cr Steven Toomey and people from all walks of life attended.
