On 28th February, Chinese Consulate-General in Brisbane held Press Salon themed on China’s New Journey and China-Australia Relations,to enhance the communication and mutual understanding with media friends.

Consul-General Dr RUAN Zongze shared his views and thoughts in the opening remarks on China’s new journey and new mission, tests and opportunities in China-Australia relations. Dr Ruan said, Chinese government applies people-centred human rights philosophy, advances whole-process people’s democracy, and is fully endorsed by Chinese people. This is one of the most successful human rights stories in the world. China’s new journey that advances the rejuvenation of the Chinese nation to all fronts through a Chinese path to modernization and makes lives better for the Chinese people, will bring human rights development onto a higher level. China is committed to the path of peaceful development, upholds the sovereignty and territorial integrity,puts forward the Global Security Initiative and the Global Development Initiative, and advances the building of a community with a shared future for mankind that are welcomed by the international society. Thanks to both sides’ efforts, currently the China-Australia relationship is on the right track. Although still faced with tests, with the mutual respect and harmony in diversity as the common ground, developing bilateral relations not affected by others, the peaceful coexistence and mutual benefit will become reality. We should have confidence in future China-Australia relations.

In the Q&A session and free discussions, Consul-General exchanged views with local media on the future of China-Australia relations in the time of change, Global Security Initiative, China’s position on the political settlement of the Ukraine Crisis, understanding Chinese modernization from human rights achievements.
