Consul General Li Lin met with Mr. Zhang Wenxian, Senior Adviser to Jinjiang City Government and his delegation in a courtesy visit in the morning of Feb.28.

Consul General Li Lin introduced to Mr Zhang the work of the Consulate General since its opening in 2018, as well as the geographical, cultural, political, and economic conditions of Mindanao, and the development prospects of Davao City as one of the key cities in the Philippines and the hubs of the Eastern ASEAN Growth Area, stressing that the Consulate General will wholeheartedly support the friendly cooperation between Jinjiang and Davao.

Mr. Zhang expressed his gratitude to the Chinese Consulate General in Davao for facilitating the signing of sister city agreement between Jinjiang and Davao in 2018, and bringing the warmth of home to overseas Chinese in Davao who are from Jinjiang. He noted that the Mindanao region was rich in resources and had great room for investment. Jinjiang City will continue to encourage Jinjiang enterprises to invest in Davao and explore new models of cooperation with the Mindanao region, with the support of the Consulate General.

After the meeting, Consul General Li Lin joined Mr. Zhang and his delegation in a meeting with Davao City Mayor Sebastian Duterte, during which three cooperative documents were signed, namely the Framework Agreement between the City of Jinjiang and Davao City on Economic Development, the Memorandum of Collaborating and Facilitating the Resumption of Davao-Jinjiang Direct Flight, and Project Cooperation Framework between Avidsports (ANTA) Philippines, Inc., and SM Supermalls Davao.
