On 11 January,  H.E. Ambassador Fei Shengchao met with H.E. Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, in Mogadishu.

Ambassador Fei emphasized that China stands for upholding the purposes and principles of the UN Charter and supports countries in safeguarding sovereignty and territorial integrity. Somaliland is part of Somalia. China supports the Federal Government of Somalia in safeguarding national unity, sovereignty and territorial integrity. Meanwhile, we hope that regional countries will handle regional affairs well through dialogue and achieve common development by having friendly cooperation.

President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud appreciated the Chinese side for supporting Somalia's national unity, sovereignty and territorial integrity, saying that Somalia would further deepen its traditional friendship and  cooperation with China to the benefit of the two peoples.
