On July 12, 2022, Vice Foreign Minister Ma Zhaoxu and First Deputy Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan Vepa Hajiyev held the Eighth Session of the Security Cooperation Subcommittee of the China-Turkmenistan Cooperation Committee via video link. The two sides had an in-depth exchange of views on bilateral relations, China-Turkmenistan security cooperation and international and regional issues of common concern.

The two sides spoke highly of the positive outcomes of bilateral security cooperation since the establishment of the Security Cooperation Subcommittee, and agreed to fully implement the consensus reached by the two heads of state, enrich the connotation of security cooperation, improve the existing cooperation mechanism, keep closer exchanges between counterpart departments, strengthen international coordination, join forces to tackle new challenges, and jointly safeguard international and regional peace and stability.

After the session, the two sides signed the Minutes of the Eighth Session of the Security Cooperation Subcommittee of the China-Turkmenistan Cooperation Committee.
