Vice Foreign Minister Ma Zhaoxu Meets with Uzbek Ambassador to China Farhod Arziev

On August 5, 2022, Vice Foreign Minister Ma Zhaoxu met with Uzbek Ambassador to China Farhod Arziev.

Ma Zhaoxu said since the establishment of diplomatic ties 30 years ago, China-Uzbekistan relations have made considerable progress under the personal attention and strategic guidance of the two heads of state. In January this year, President Xi Jinping and President Shavkat Mirziyoyev jointly attended the Virtual Summit to Commemorate the 30th Anniversary of Diplomatic Relations Between China and Central Asian Countries. In February, the two heads of state met on the sidelines of the opening ceremony of the Olympic Winter Games Beijing 2022, chartering the course for the development of China-Uzbekistan relations and all-round cooperation between the two countries. China is ready to work with Uzbekistan to earnestly implement the common understanding reached between the two heads of state and push for the sustained new development of the China-Uzbekistan comprehensive strategic partnership.

Arziev stressed that Uzbekistan attaches great importance to developing relations with China, unswervingly adheres to the one-China principle and supports the Global Development Initiative, Global Security Initiative and the vision of building a community with a shared future for mankind proposed by President Xi Jinping. Uzbekistan is ready to work with China to speed up cooperation between the "New Uzbekistan" strategy and the Belt and Road Initiative for greater synergy, and expand areas of bilateral cooperation to further flesh out bilateral relations.
