On July 4, 2023, Assistant Foreign Minister Nong Rong attended and addressed the promotion reception of the 20th China-ASEAN Expo & China-ASEAN Business and Investment Summit held at the ASEAN-China Centre.

Nong Rong said that the Expo is an important exchange platform proposed by China and co-organized by China and ASEAN countries. After years of development, the Expo has become a vigorous practice of China’s neighborhood diplomacy of amity, sincerity, mutual benefit and inclusiveness, and a vivid epitome of solidarity, cooperation and shared development among Asian countries. This year marks the 20th anniversary of the Expo, which is a great and joyous event for China and ASEAN countries. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs supports Guangxi in playing a unique and pioneering role in China-ASEAN relations and is ready to actively cooperate to ensure the success of the relevant work of the Expo, further play the role of “Nanning Channel”, and boost the Expo’s well-established credentials.

The activity was co-organized by Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region and ASEAN-China Centre, and attended by diplomatic envoys of ASEAN countries to China. Vice-Governor of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region Sui Guohua, Secretary-General of ASEAN-China Centre Shi Zhongjun, and Lao Ambassador to China Khamphao Ernthavanh, among others, delivered speeches respectively.
