Recently, Special Envoy on Afghan Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Yue Xiaoyong briefed relevant parties via telephone and video links on the series of meetings on the Afghan Issue in late of March 2022. Special Envoy Yue briefed the Special Representative of the Federal Government of Germany for Afghanistan and Pakistan Mr. Jasper Wieck, the EU Special Envoy for Afghanistan Mr. Tomas Niklasson, Director-General of the International Security Department of MOFAIC UAE Mr. Salem Al Zaabi, Director-General of the Department of South Asia of MOFA Turkey Mr. Hakan Tekin, the Prime Minister’s Special Representative for Afghanistan and Pakistan of UK Mr. Nigel Casey on the fruitful outcomes of the Third Foreign Ministers’ Meeting Among the Neighboring Countries of Afghanistan. He also briefed the Deputy Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan Mr. Vepa Hajiyev, Special Representative of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Afghanistan Mr. Ismatulla Irgashev, Special Envoy of the Minister of Foreign Affairs for Counterterrorism and Mediation in Conflict Resolution of Qatar Mr. Mutlaq Qahtani, Head of Department of Strategic Studies of Tajikistan Mr. Vafo Niyatbekzoda on the Extended Troika Meeting on Afghanistan.

They spoke highly of the fruitful outcomes of the series of meetings, and expressed the wish to strengthen dialogue and cooperation with China on the Afghan issue.
