Wu Jianghao said, China and Nepal are good neighbors helping each other, good partners benefiting each other and good friends respecting and trusting each other. In 2019, President Xi Jinping and President Bidya Devi Bhandari successfully exchanged visits and elevated bilateral relations to the China-Nepal strategic partnership of cooperation featuring ever-lasting friendship for development and prosperity. Since the beginning of this year, China and Nepal have witnessed close high-level exchanges. Both sides agreed to follow through on the important consensus reached by the leaders of the two countries and work together to build a closer China-Nepal community with a shared future. As close neighbors and good friends, China and Nepal should carry forward the traditional friendship, firmly support each other, deepen cooperation in pandemic response, advance high-quality Belt and Road cooperation, and maintain close communication and collaboration in multilateral areas, so as to push forward the continuous development of China-Nepal relations.

Paudyal said, Nepal and China enjoy traditional friendship. Nepal attaches great importance to Nepal-China relations, and is satisfied with the development of bilateral relations and fully confident in the future of bilateral relations. Nepal firmly adheres to the one-China principle, will never allow any force to use its territory for anti-China separatist activities, and will actively participate in Belt and Road cooperation. Nepal is ready to work with China to ensure sound implementation of the important consensus reached by the leaders of the two countries, strengthen the exchange of visits at all levels, maintain close communication and coordination in regional and international affairs, and push for new progress in bilateral cooperation in various fields.

The two sides had in-depth discussions on the recent progress in and future plans of cooperation in areas such as trade and investment, connectivity, law enforcement and security, and people-to-people and cultural exchanges.
