2013-07-24 14:39

On July 24, 2013, Foreign Minister Wang Yi met with H.E. Masood Khalid, Ambassador of Pakistan to China, and on behalf of the Chinese government, accepted the humanitarian donation of one million U.S. dollars from the government of Pakistan to the earthquake stricken area in China .

Wang Yi said, a friend in need is a friend indeed. Pakistan deserves the "faithful brother" of China. We still remember when the Wenchuan earthquake in 2008, Pakistan offered such a generous support to us that donated all the tents in storage, numbered over 20,000. This time, even with its own economic difficulties, Pakistan gave a hand to China again. It is truly the brotherhood between the two countries.

Masood Khalid said, difficulties of the Chinese people are the same as of ours. The Pakistani people identified with the people suffering in the earthquake stricken area. At the same time, we firmly believe that the people in the disaster areas will overcome difficulties and rebuild their homes.
